Where’s Childers
Getting There
The Bruce Highway will get you to Childers, it about a 3hr drive north from the Sunshine coast and 45 minutes south from Bundaberg and about 1 west of Hervey Bey. All the coach services along the east coast will get you there but it may be handy having a car to get to work.

There are caravan parks, camping facilities and a backpackers in Childers.
Not Fruit Picking – What to do?
Fruit picking work aside there’s a few historical museums and wineries to get too. If you have a car there are many options within an hours drive. Get in contact with the guys at the local visitor centre.
Extending Your Australian Working Holiday Visa
Many harvest jobs will meet the Second Australian Working Holiday Visa eligibility and count towards the 88 days of specified work. Some regional locations and jobs are ineligible which could lead to the Department of Immigration rejecting your application. So remember to confirm whether or not your fruit picking or harvest job will count towards the Second Australian WHV.
