Located approximately 950 km west of Sydney via the Great, Mid Western and Sturt Highways, Euston is a small country town which thrives on it’s strong agricultural base and numerous vineyards. In service of these wineries employment will be found picking grapes and vine trimming which will span over a 6-7months period. Remember to try your hand at fishing, camping or rent a house bout and experience the Murray River region.

Where’s Euston
Getting There
If driving from Sydney, take the Hume Hwy, then the Sturt Hwy. It is a long 960km drive.
If coming from Melbourne, its a 400km drive via the Calder Hwy and if your starting point is Adelaide, its 550km via the Sturt Hwy.
If you don’t have a car, there are buses going daily through Euston/Robinvale from Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.
Accommodation
In town, you will find a caravan park, motels and hotels. There may also be camping facilities available at some of the farms where you will be fruit picking, but just make sure you check with the boss beforehand.
Not Fruit Picking – What to do?
- Go fishing on the River Murray and try and snag one of the famous Murray Cod, which are delicious cooked over a BBQ.
- Check out the Euston Bowling and Recreation Club, where you can share a beer and a story with some of the locals.
- Take a walk through Euston State Forest to look for native wildlife.
Extending Your Australian Working Holiday Visa
Many harvest jobs will meet the Second Australian Working Holiday Visa eligibility and count towards the 88 days of specified work. Some regional locations and jobs are ineligible which could lead to the Department of Immigration rejecting your application. So remember to confirm whether or not your fruit picking or harvest job will count towards the Second Australian WHV.
