Rombola Family Farms encompasses over 4,000 hectares of intensive irrigated horticultural production at Griffith (NSW) and Mataranka (NT). Agricultural enterprises include almonds, wine grapes, seedless watermelon, rockmelons, broccoli, and pumpkin.  Operations include primary production, processing, value adding and marketing.

We are seeking a passionate and driven Harvest Pickers to join our team in Mataranka, NT. The successful applicant will be responsible for selecting fresh produce for picking according to size and ripeness, and discard rotting and over-ripened produce following Rombola Family Farms quality standards. May operate farm machinery to harvest fresh produce. Load picked fresh produce into containers, taking care to avoid damage.

Key accountabilities include:

• Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand, as per Quality Assurance instructions.
• Load agricultural products into containers and trucks, as per instructions of our storage facilities.
• Dig and plant seeds, or transplant seedlings by hand.
• Clear and maintain irrigation ditches, when required.
• Perform farm labouring and maintenance tasks (e.g., trellis repairs, irrigation repairs), when required.
• Inspecting crops for ripeness and quality.
• Safely and efficiently operating harvesting equipment such as small tractors, if required.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Following all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

• Current Driver's License.
• Evidence of work rights.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Team player who can work effectively with people from different backgrounds.
• Awareness and ability to adhere to rules and procedures.
• Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets, including weekends and public holidays.
• Good level of physical fitness, including ability to kneel, grasp, bend/twist, lift light to moderate loads (up to 10-15kg) and be able to work in temperature extremes and dust.
