Mildura is a regional city and a popular tourist destination in Victoria. The region is known for make great wine, make sure you get on a tour and enjoy a drop of the local house wines. Harvest work wise you’ll find work picking grapes, citrus fruits, vegetables, asparagus and pruning vines.

Getting There

Mildura is a 5 hours drive west of Adelaide and 6 hours north of Melbourne. Daily bus services operate.

Accommodation
Mildura’s a bustling country town, you’ll find backpackers hostels, caravan parks along with all the usual suspects. Some farms will provide dorm style bedding or will accommodate harvest workers with camper vans or camping equipment.

  • Get involved with water sports
  • Visit the Australian inland musuem

Extending Your Australian Working Holiday Visa

Many harvest jobs will meet the Second Australian Working Holiday Visa eligibility and count towards the 88 days of specified work. Some regional locations and jobs are ineligible which could lead to the Department of Immigration rejecting your application. So remember to confirm whether or not your fruit picking or harvest job will count towards the Second Australian WHV.

    i am visiting mildurra, is there any vacancies in the farms? i heard there are contractors to deal with but they pay very little. I am expected to be there early June ’13.Please advise.
